An update from the Management Team (3/2/2026)
We wanted to share a quick update on our Forward in Faith – Hilltop Cabins project.
The vision behind the Hilltop Cabins is simple: to create durable, welcoming spaces that serve campers, retreat guests, and families for years to come—while also honoring the history of this place. From the beginning, our goal was not to demolish, but to rehabilitate and improve these original Hilltop cabins dating back to the 1960s.
Throughout the design and planning process, we worked intentionally to preserve as much of the original structures as possible. The existing brick and truss systems are being retained, allowing us to build on what’s already here while significantly improving functionality, comfort, and accessibility. This approach reflects wise stewardship and helps preserve the character of Hilltop.
The project includes five total cabins:
-
One cabin designed as a meeting room / small worship space, and
-
Four cabins designed as sleeping cabins for campers and retreat guests.
Each Hilltop Cabin will cost approximately $100,000 to complete.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we’ve already raised around $200,000, which fully funds two cabins. We are incredibly thankful for how God has already provided and for the many people who have stepped in to help move this vision forward.
We’re excited to share that contractors have been selected and the down payment has been paid, and groundbreaking will be happening soon. This project is officially moving from vision to reality.
Once completed, the renovated Hilltop Cabins will be a significant upgrade. They will include heat and air conditioning, improved accessibility, and a new driveway that has already been installed. Each cabin will feature a covered porch, perfect for morning coffee, quiet conversation, or a small group Bible study.
The meeting cabin will include a kitchenette, making it easy to warm up food, grab coffee or water, and enjoy late-night or early-morning snacks without needing to walk all the way down to the dining hall.
Our immediate goal is to have at least one cabin completed before this summer, allowing it to be used right away for ministry and programming. At the same time, we still need to raise funds for the remaining three cabins to fully bring this vision to life.
As we continue forward, every gift—large or small—helps take another step toward completing the Hilltop Cabin project and expanding the impact of camp.
Thank you for being part of what God is doing at Round Lake. Your support is helping turn vision into reality—one cabin at a time.
