Troy grew up going to Round Lake as a camper while attending Grove Church of Christ in Gambier, Ohio. After graduating from high school, he went to Kentucky Christian College to earn his Business Degree to pursue camp ministry. He met his wife Melissa there, and the two have been married for 25 years. They have a daughter named Aslinn, who is serving in ministry in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with her husband Tyler.
Over the past 25 years, Troy has carried different roles in his career, from being a Camp Manager in Michigan to serving as a professional firefighter in Virginia. He also has a background in building. He believes God has allowed him to explore different occupations over the years to prepare him for the role he’s playing today.
What I love most about camp is the power of Christian camping. Lives are changed through the saving grace of Jesus by building relationships with one another. Whether playing games together or hearing God’s word through a campfire devotional, God captures the attention of men, women and children in this place. I’m grateful to have a front row seat.
